Universal Ceiling Mount use with eVo
1. Package Contents
This is a universal ceiling mount kit so there is quite a bit of
hardware that is not required to hang the eVo. I will only address
parts that will be used.
2. Removing the eVo’s Feet
Start by removing all of the eVo’s big feet. And you know what they say about big feet… big shoes.
3. Remove Extra Screws on the Spider
(Some versions have four matching long legs. If this describes your mount skip to step 6.)
I don’t know if it’s really called a spider, but now you know what I
mean. There are two longer legs, each with two screws. Remove the screw
closest to the foot on each leg and save them for now. We’ll use them
later. All the screws that we will use match these.
4. Repositioning the Spider Legs
If you leave the legs positioned as they are straight of the box you’ll
have limited vertical adjustment of the picture, and way more than you
need in the other direction. Take one of the longer legs and swap
positions with the shorter leg diagonally across from it.
5. Spider Complete
When you’re done it should look like this. Note the orientation of the hanger bracket in the middle.
6. Attach the Spider to eVo
OK, this is where those extra panheads machine screws come in. (See
inset in photo below) Thread in all four until they are finger-tight.
Again, note the orientation of the bracket in the middle. If everything
looks good, tighten the screws with a Phillips head screwdriver. Use
the included hex wrench to tighten the screws that attach the legs to
the center.
7. Ceiling Hardware and Swivel Bracket
(There is no hardware provided to secure the top bracket to the
ceiling. Be sure to use hardware that is appropriate for your
environment.) If you plan to use the extension you can skip to step 9.
If you want to mount your eVo close to the ceiling locate the ceiling
bracket (left) and the swivel assembly (right).
8. Attach Swivel to Ceiling Bracket
The tabs on the swivel assembly are offset. Insert the swivel tabs
between the tabs on the ceiling bracket. If the two small holes are not
in alignment on both sides, you need to turn it the other direction.
Once the holes are aligned locate four small hex head screws. They will
be the same as the screw circled at the top of the photo. After all
four screws are started in their holes, tighten each. You can now
attach this assembly to your ceiling. Make sure the pins on the swivel
hardware are parallel to the direction of the projection.
9. Attach the eVo to the Swivel Joint
(The next two steps apply whether you are using the extension or not.
If you are using the extension you will need to assemble that first.
See step 11.) Hang the eVo by hooking the spider bracket on the pins of
the swivel joint.
10. Insert Screws to Complete Assembly
Insert a machine screw through the slots on the front and back. See
right highlight below. These will secure the projector and allow you to
lock in left-right adjustments. To adjust and lock vertical adjustments
use the machine screws on each side. See left highlight below. You’re
done. Good work.
11. Using the Extension
To use the telescoping extension begin by connecting it to the ceiling bracket.
12. Secure Extension to Ceiling Bracket
With the holes aligned insert two screws on each side and tighten.
13. Attach Swivel Joint to Extension
On the other end of the extension attach the swivel joint. Again, the
swivel tabs and related holes are offset. If it doesn’t fit in one
direction flip it around.
14. Secure Extension to Swivel Joint
With the holes aligned insert two screws on each side and tighten.
15. Complete Extension Assembly
You did it, playa. To adjust the length of the extension loosen the set
screw (highlighted below) position it where you need it and tighten the
screw again. To attach your eVo return to step 9.
