Full Version: Could the lens from this be used in our projector to zoom?

Is that the lens from the inside of that projector? If it is, I highly doubt it would work the way you would want it to.

It is removed from the unit (see the unit picture). It has power focus and zoom built into the lens.
If I used this instead of the Lumanlab triplet would this produce the sam quality picture and allow for a longer throw? Brain? Any idea. the lens specs are at the link on the first post.

I'm pretty confident that I can tell you it will not work without a series of lenses before it. That lens system is designed for an extremely short focus, probably under one inch. Also, it is designed to focus an image that is probably much smaller than two inches square. That's just my opinion, but I am confident that it is the right one.

That's what I thought since that what it was designed for. Ugh. I hope one day Brain makes a zoom lens.
So? is there any lens likethis that can work in our projectors to give a good distance and quality?
Any sujestions?
