My first post here - have been lurking for awhile trying to garner enough knowledge not to annoy everyone.

I have worked through the forums as much as I can and can't seem to find a solution regarding the eballast/light setup. I believe that my ballast may be faulty? What I have done so far:
- Triple checked the wiring against the forum diagrams.
- Tried removing the breaker from the circuit and wiring straight thru to the ballast --> mogul
- Made sure the tab was making contact with the base of the bulb in the mogul.
- Made sure there was no charring on the base of the bulb.
- No visible sign of any damage to the bulb itself.
- Made sure that there was proper voltage on the inputs to the ballast.

No light! No hum, No click, No anything.

I have emailed the same info to customer service at the store - but am really hoping to get SOMETHING to go right with this project! (Already killed my control board (I think) on my first monitor (Fujitsu-Siemens CF383 - has 20-pin FFC extension requirement but otherwise seems to strip okay) -- green light lights up, backlight circuit turns on - nothing on monitor screen at all! All FFCs look okay with magnifying glass). New monitor (Westinghouse 15v5 arrived yesterday - Yay!)

Any and all help and encouragement very much appreciated. The vast array of knowledge, creativity and experience here is fantastic.

I too had a dead eballast recently it has a cracked transformer, plus like in the post by vidman in the help section mine appears to have been wired backwards, with blue as hot. I can not confirm this though as im not an expert in electronics.

I have recently emailed customer service to try and clear up this blue/brown wire stuff if i get an answer ill be sure to post the responce.

The good thing the guys here are great and they shipped me a new eballast right away, so their great people to deal with.

I have wired it up AC brown to blue and AC blue to brown.

But I only found this out when I opened them (why not I thought it was screwd) see pic above.
But I am not suggesting you do due to warranty, I had nothing to lose as Im in New Zealand, I had to find out .
I would ask LL team if you can open it first it just might be like mine.
As long as it didnt go bang the first time it might be ok.

Also I put it back in my PJ and fired it up a second time..still sweet,..

And yes LL team u awesome to deal with..
