I'm starting my plog on my project. I have already recieved fresnels, light, balast, mogul, lcd(which if i remember correctly is a cmv 520n), and the norpro bowl which i cut reliefs out for the bulb. I will be using a combination of aluminum rails and oak wood.

I have the basic framing together and the lcd stripped and framed with 1x2 oak, i have the fresnels also framed in 1x2 oak, (after reading SJs plog about oak, and my experience with MDF and plywood, oak seemed to be a better choice for wood and i was right in using it. it didn't splinter or crack.) im using 1/16th inch thick aluminum, and it feels pretty sturdy.

sorry for the briefness but i've ben working and planning this since late 2004 and am now starting to plog.

I love the aluminum, it is very light and it doesnt budge, the aluminum costs about $8.00 at home depot they are L shaped and 1/16" thick 4' long and 1 1/2"wide. flat 1/16" aluminum cost abot $4.00 for a 4 foot 1 1/2" wide.

i'm actually trying to research some sheets of heat resistant plastic.

let me see if i can get some picks up of what i have so far.

That's a cool design bro, i bet it's really light too huh?

yeh, it,s very light i can lift it and flip it around with 1 hand. i would like to encase the outside with either a plastic or maybe a 1/4" plywood.
Some how i blew my balast for the buld, ordered a new one and waiting on delivery.
will post more pics as things change.

That's a great looking case so far. I'm also considering making a metal skeleton with some form of covering, though my idea is just that, I've not even begun roughing out what it might look like. It's great to see your inspired work. :)

the aluminum, you can pick up in home depot and loews, i baught a 4' L for $8.00 and 4' straight for $4-5.00
most of what i'm using is 1/16th thick and others that are 1/8th thick. it's very light and stiff.
