I loaded Dscalar into my computer yesterday and was astounded by how much it improved the image of my tv signal. Unfortunately I can not get sound to work at all with descalar. I am currenty using powercinema so if anyone has any other suggestions besides this or dscalar please voice you opinion.

Thanks,

Eric

Hey Eric, Ive been considering Dscaler..... Is it only beneficial for HDTV signals?
when you say it improves the TV Image, is that analog cable, digitial cable, or what?

Also, do you have dvi input on your LCD, or VGA? (Mines VGA only)....

Does it take alot of power to run Dscaler..... Ive got 2.4 Ghz

Dscaler is a program in which you can watch tv. The deinterlacing and decoding of this player seem to do better than most software that comes with a tv tuner card. This software is also free. It is very beneficial for non HDTV signals. It does not require a lot of power to run Dscaler. The connection type (VGA/DVI) doesnt matter either.

I hope that helps answer some of you questions.

ive got an older tv card and have been using dscaler for about 5 years. it takes a while to configure it sometimes based on your hardware. from what i recall i have had my tv signal sent seperatly to the sound card on my pc ( by passing dscaler entirely) ive ran it to my stereo (bypassing my pc entirely) ive had the out put from my tv card straight into my sound card. try several configurations and setups and mess with the sound settings and codecs. it always takes me a bit of time to get it right, then its all good. not sure i really helped without some more details of what yoru setup is, but i hope its some sort of a start.
