i was wondering about actually taking to hose type clamps and clamping each end of the bulb for mounting purposes can anyone see a problem with doing this? i was also wondering about making connections to the bottom of the light bulb with out using the mogul as i broke one bulb screwing it in :'-(

you definetly want to use a mogul base for your bulb. just be careful with the next bulb. it would be dangerous not to use a mogul. do not use hose clamps. there are many ways to mount the base. check out some of the ways other members have done it. heres how I do it in mine.

Simple answer the hose clamps will expaand and contract and that alone could make the bulb explode, and lets not forget the hot spots on the glass as well.

I hate to say it but its back to the drawing board for this one.

Kepp thinking outside the box.
