Hi there! it's been a while since i havent posted; have been constantly upgrading and enjoying my PJ.
however, i find it too darn big for the small space i have in my house, so i will do my second PJ using a lilliput screen.

i wanted to ask if anyone knows if it is possible to use my current light engine on such a small projector?, i can get my way around heat issues, but it would certainly be a whole lot better than using halogen right?.

another thing i'm worried about is cutting my fresnels up, but i guess it'll take some courage.

one last thing: can i also use my current PJ lens?or I should probably get the small lens from the store right?.

thanks

I would use the standard triplet. I have tried both on my 8" hami and I like the standard better than the varifocal. I had edge focus problems with the varifocal that I could not get rid of so I went with the original pj lens.

you are probably right. both triplets have the same focal lengths, the only advantage of the varifocal is its name: you dont need a focusing mechanism, but hell: the one i got is pretty good.

what about VGA? is there any way to convert the VGA signal from a computer's monitor output to a regular composite output which the panel only accepts? the small projector would be great for playstation and dvd, but what about the PC? leaving TV-out options aside, is there a DIY method to cobine a VGA cable with a composite video cable?

thankS!

There are plenty of VGA to TV boxes on the market, its a bit too hard to this sort of thing DIY.
