Hi All,

I have inherited a Mitsubishi LVP-X100A projector (1024x768 format, quite old technology) that has a serious convergence problem. It appears that one of the colors is about 5 pixels to the left of the other two. I was able to look at a service manual and there are no directions about how to perform a convergence. Is anyone familiar with the technology behind this projector? I have been told it is cheaper to replace it than repair it but I am considering parting it out for a light source and projection lens a la lumenlab. However, if some tweaking can fix the problem, and someone knows how, I would appreciate hearing how this puppy works and how the convergence problem might be attacked.

Thanks

Hay, I resently found a Mitsubishi LVP-X100A Projector with exactly the same problem; one of the
colors is out of alinment. Could someone please comment on possible fixes?

Are they different colors? Maybe you could combine both projectors to make one working one. biggrin.gif

The green (as in RGB) usually is the one out of alignment - a vertical bar on the right - starts to get wider over time. This indicates that the lamp has very few hours left before the lamp light is triggered to replace.

Replace the lamp, reset the lamp timer, and recalibrate the setup functions for the different controls.

Also, if you do not have a manual, try this link for the PDF:

Hi Magna Video,
Just got an old x100A and it has a misalignement problem. It casts a shadow a small distance to the left. There is a bar on the right hand side but it is not green. It's kind of purple-ish. Also it seems that changing the brightness does not affect the picture. Would you recon that this is the same problem of a worn out lamp ? The lamp indicator is still a steady green. Could it be that someone reset the timer but left in an old lamp ? When you reset the timer as per instructions in the manual, should there be any indication on the screen about it and is it possible somehow to retrieve the timer information ?
So many questions, thanks for your patience.
