Hi all and happy new year..

I have had this little baby knocking around for a while now. (pinched from an ofice clearout)
Ive researched a little and it seems to be a tungsten halogen. QT-DE 500w R7s (german design)
It's got a meaty 500w output so cooling would be a must. It's a point source lamp with an integrated ballast which is good but can it feasibly be used in a project (or) ?
Any thoughts or flames are welcome...

It's not a point source lamp. It is entirely unsuitable unless you are only interested in making a molten LCD soup.
