Hello everyone!

First of all, I just want to say how great this forum is. I'm glad that I bought the premium subscription! smile.gif

What I wanted to know deals first with a light source. I have an uncle who says he may have some metal halide indoor setups, but they could only be 250 watt. I have a 17 inch lcd. Will 250w be enough to light it up good?

Secondly, I bought a projection lense from eBay. It is an Edmond 5 inch (~122mm) Super Projection Lense, and has a focal length of 12 inches (~335mm). I have the pro fresnel lense kit from LL, and I was wondering if this setup could work because the focal length is so short for the Edmund lense.

If anyone could let me know, I would VERY much appeciate andwers to either of these questions.

Thanks, and happy new year!

Well I know about the answer to whether or not you can use your 250w metal halide bulb. I wouldn't recommend it, simply put it will not be bright enough with the current design set-ups we are using. What shape/size is it? For Ex. ED28 (short, fat), T15 (tubular) BD-37 (rugby shaped, LARGE).

As our LL light engines become better and more efficient less light will be required, but as of now that bulb will project to dim. Probably < 50 lumens.
Hope this helps smile.gif

yeah... I'm not sure what size it is - all I know is that it's for indoor use. I'll ask him more details the next time i call him.

Thanks!

BTW - the lense I have looks to be about 27mm larger (diameter-wise) than the upcoming Pro lense. Then again, it was made in 1979... I hope this additional info helps.
