the first time I saw the plans I wanted one immediately, but not long after I bought a house. Now that most of the house projects are finished I am thinking of getting one again. My justification is why pay 150 for a hass style box when I can put the 150 towards the cnc and make one myself. Does anyone have any total expense for these machienes. I know Joe is still creating his new style one, which I would like to hold out for, but do you guys have any idea of what the total cost is. I have nothing at this point and would need everything, router, motors, controller, and of course the machiene itself. I dont require the best in materials, just something I can later upgrade when possible.

1. HobbyCNC controllor board 79.00 or board of choice
2. power supply from 15.00 to 75.00 (depending on your resourcefullness) let me know if i can help with ideas.
3. Motors might as well get a min. of 200oz 150.00+/-.
4. Computer
5. Software, you can start off with free Linux EMC. works real well for the price(free), or TurboCNC for DOS it works ok.
6. CNC Machine itself. cost depends on what you make yourself ver. others for you. this is a hard price to put on it, when i finish i will try to put a price tag on it for just parts and materials. (Pulsareus may can help in this area).
and workarea, with some type of dust collection depending on how much you cut will govern the system, shopvac to start is ok.
I will be designing my own cyclone dust collection on the cheap very soon, look for it after the CNC Build.
