Ok guys, I hate to say it, but the more I read the more confused I get. I've have seen proof the AG removal helps out GREATLY. Last night I took down the PJ and installed my IKEA reflector on my s400DD. I now have an increase in brightness as well as even lighting. The next step and final step of my projector is removing the AG and TAC. I had an issue with silicon smug on my current LCD, which seems to be on the front of the lcd (side facing triplet). My hopes are to remove the AG from the back side (facing light) and the TAC from font. This way when I remove the layer the smug does with it. I've attempted to clean the lcd with alcohol and nail polish remover with no luck. Figured this as a last resort. Just wanted to get some input from members before I attempt the Extreme MOD.

Thanks

Hey Squeeky: Your choice on removing the a/g & TAC from the side facing the lamp with either 'rag' or 'stripper' methods but when removing the TAC on rear it has been noted by several others that just the 'rag' works efficiently. I hope you have read on all there is before you attempt the mod and good luck.

I have read most, and decided if I attempt the rag method seems to work great with the BenQ. Am I correct that removing the TAC from both sides, and AG from the one, will result in better quality all around. I don't want to remove the polarizer, just TAC and AG.

Yes that is correct. Remember the Tac and antiglare will come off together on the side facing the light. And the Tac will come off by itself on the triplet side. It seems like it takes about twice as long to remove the Tac/antiglare than just the Tac alone.

You should be very impressed with the improved contrast and colors, and maybe even the brightness too. smile.gif

'TAC and antiglare' you mean. And this is the side facing the lamp in our LL design. The rear of the panel which faces the triplet has just TAC which is only removed.

Squeeky, why don't you just tackle the antiglare and TAC first before you touch the rear panel's TAC. Only if your willing to experiment with me because this is my speculative observation.
