(sorry if I've posted this in the wrong channel.. first time posting and all..)

So I came across the Digital View SVH-1920 tonight and I can't seem to find anyone here having talked about it so I thought I'd post up the details I've discovered..

First off..
There's a product brief at: http://www.digitalview.com/brochures/SVH-1920%20brochure.pdf

The features listed are as follows:

OK.. so I dug around some more and found this gem..

As you can see.. it has the Genesis gm1601 which gives it a pretty standard feature set.

Finally, one thing about this one that I haven't seen elsewhere is that the versions of the controller come in both standard and HDCP enabled configurations.

Let me know if you want me to tell you what the other chips on the board do. For the most part, the SVH-1920 doesn't deviate from the reference design board used for the gm1601 (as far as I can tell). It looks like it may be something to look at..

I've heard sample pricing of it is approximately $475 but I don't know for sure yet.. If/when I find out.. I'll let you know.

Cheers,
WH

It looks most interesting. I have spent some time looking at it but neve noticed the HDCP part. I looked up the websites of some of their suppliers, and didn't find much on that card. The 1600 model right below it i found somewhere but never persued the purchase. If it could be found with HDCP that would make it an added bonus smile.gif

Yeah.. it was the HDCP that made me get off my butt and post it up. smile.gif I don't know much about HDCP except that it's a copy protection scheme that works by attempting to encrypt the info in transit. Other than that, I just know that other people here have expressed interest in HDCP enabled controllers.

Cheers,
WH

By the way...

Apparently, Digital View suspects that the 17" Sharp WUXGA panel (LQ170M1LA04) would work with the controller. I believe it's a 17", 16ms panel, that is on ebay for $385 right now. I have an email in to ask them if it does indeed work with that panel or failing that, which panels it does work with.

There is a solution generator on their website. Is that where you got the 17" Panel info from?

I think the controller is still in the planning/testing phase. Their website doesn't have a lot of info on it but a brocure.

They have other products. One of the people on their wholesaler's list had the SV-1600 and DVI-1600 in stock.

Could you check pricing for the HDCP version? I would be VERY interested.

I would never pay more then 200$ for an LCD+controller, the size, noise, and lack of uniform brightness is not worth the resolution.

you guys are crazy >.<
