Hi All-
Got my ps1 done and now I'm starting a 15"
Using a MAG Innovision LT565 (ebay $108) FCC issue
*1024x768
*350:1 contrast
*couldn't find the specs on responce time
A/G removed
GE 400wMH 43828 w/coil and core ballast ($71 Daycoa.com)
*went that route instead of an EYE because of the good price
Standard LL lens kit (just ordered it- not here yet)

Here's some pics

I saw this on someone else's plog- it was too good not to try-
power focus using a $1 toy car remote

BTW- I didn't have a table saw, so what do DIYrs do- make one!

Hey, can you do a thread on the DIY table saw. I've been toying with that since I suck at pushing a skillsaw straight. What saw did you use? and how did you wire it up?

Sure thing- I'll start one later tonight so I can get some pics. I used my regular circular saw (Skill Saw Clasic) I'll show the wiring there.

Thanks everyone, couldn't have done any of it without the rest of you.
Here's some more of what I've done so far.

Here's the ballast and base inside the box

And with the flashing-

Needs another coat of paint- I couldn't tell until the camera flash showed where there were spots that reflected- something to keep in mind

Here is a pic of the control pannel, I used some left over Lexan and Dremmeled out the holes, then spray painted the Lexan flat black

I got the temp sensor here
http://www.jab-tech.com/LCD-Digital-CompuN...ht-pr-2641.html
It only reads in celsius but oh well and it has a grey casing- I took this one appart and sprypainted it black but I think I damaged it, I'll be more careful when my new one comes in.

I like the idea of using the lexan for the control panel. Looks very nice. biggrin.gif

I think this stainless steel kitchen bowl will make a nice reflector- Dremel tools are great.
BTW I waited until after I cut it to tell my wife to say goodby to that particular culinary accessory.
Sure is cold here in Ohio.

OK- The Captain is back. I'm back on track after "a wee bout" with the flu that kept me away for a few.
I got the box done. Here's some picks

I have 2 problems though, wonder if anyone has any ideas on the 2nd one. The 1st is I need to figure out my camera to take better pics of my sreen shots.

They really are better in person. However, my 2nd issue is, as I was watching the 2nd movie (Fantastic 4) a dark spot appeared in the upper rt hand corner of the image. I shut the pj down, let it cool and opened the box. Everything looked as though it was as it was supposed to be as far as placement. I re-measured, everything's ok. The dark spot is on the lcd. I know what it is, I cooked it. My temp sensor never went above 91deg, still it's there. I wonder if had some residue left from a/g removal that reacted to the heat?
It won't rub off. I read a thread on TAC removal- would that help? BTW my wife and kids didn't really notice the defect, but i can.

Thanks Slowmotion, the focusing mech is really cool, last night I moved it to the top of the inside of the pj box (i'll post a pic later) instead of the side. It runs smoother now and it's less crowded by the control pannel.

Here's that pic of the relocated focus mech-

Very nice job on your enclosure, too bad about your panel. where are you reading your temp? how is the airflow across your panel? anything blocking it in that corner? nice screen shots. ( they never look as good as in person)

Thanks TESCORP, My temp probe is right in the center and at the bottom, my air vent is about 1mm wider than the inside edge of the enclosure so nothing is blocking it. I'm going to take some more readings in that corner though, but i can't see it being any different. I'm getting another MAG lt565 that has a bad circut board but a good lcd and switch them out. Til then i'm going to try to figure out the defect so as not to repeat the problem. Could i have my lexan in backwards, with the uv side facing away from the light. (i don't think so though, i was extra carefull not to do that, i think. The green film is the uv side right?)
