I just noticed the first fresnel is bowing out. It will need a brace to keep it straight. It is causing the center of the screen to be slightly out of focus.

The original lens from the overhead projector wasn't working properly so I used a lens from an art opaque projector.

Sorry- the anti-glare film.

No, but I might look into that. Some of the really bright images have a bit of a halo around them. I wonder if ant-glare film would help.

I think you might want to check your fresnel measurements for the halo problem- the anti-glare film is already on the screen, you may want to take it off (increase brightness) Check out the treads in "extreme mods"

I'm happy with the results of the projector for some movies. Wide screen movies don't project very well. The psone LCD is just too small.
I'm planning to build a 15"er this winter.

There should be an image on the first page with the basic dimensions written down. But that's all I have.

Everything for the bulb and fresnel came from an overhead projector. It's an ENX, 360 watt bulb. The bulbs themselves are about $7 online. I had lost my wiring diagram from when I took apart the overhead proj. And burned out two bulbs trying to get it rewired properly. So far no probs.

Great Job!
I wasted a few ENH bulbs wiring my light too! wink.gif

ahh..i was really getting my hopes up on this one..i wanted to build a psOne 5" LCD projector from a modded OHP but I mostly have widescreen movies...i wonder why they look bad.. i would think the the vertical resolution would be the deciding factor there and since it's got the full 480 lines..hmm..i guess when it's shorter the hacking up of the horizontal resolution is more evident...

ag removal is really easy for the psone lcd. lay the bare lcd panel across something soft, such as a towel. i put mine on cardboard for some reason. get another towel and soak it in water. wring it out modestly. lay that towel over the lcd, ag side. in about 1 hour you will be able to pull the ag off with relative ease. i bet if i waited longer it wouldve been easier. it may leave some residue, i cleaned it with rubbing alcohol but that miteve been a mistake. it leaves a very slight residue/oxidation that i cleaned off with the wet towel. something more gentle would probably be better. like i said ag is very simple, just remember there are 2 'stickers' stacked on that side, the one on top is ag which you are removing and the other on bottom is the polarizer. do not remove the polarizer. im not sure what that does, but apparently you need it.
