I am planning on building an unsplit vertical with the new pro lenses. At the moment I am trying to determine the distance between lcd and fresnel. Since the triplet will be focusing on the lcd and there will be no fresnel in front of the lcd, is there still a possibility of projecting rings onto the screen. Or can I just put the panel as close as possible to the fresnels?

You will still need to separate them. This will allow the arc length to hide the rings, one of the only benefits of having a largish arc. And having a gap will aid in cooling as well.
