Hey all. This is a GREAT SITE!!
Just a dumb question. I currently own an NEC LT240K and LOVE it!! I will never go back to a regular TV again for my entertainment needs. I paid 2K for it and justified it when i saw how well it worked. But yesterday i stumbled upon LUMENLAB and have read for hours ok till 4AM this morning. I am very intrigued on ditching my NEC and going with a home built because of bulb life and overall costs.
I have come to the conclusion that i still would love to stay ceiling mounted in my basement theatre and really liked the boxes TESCORP was making but i tried to PM him and not able to. I dont need all the options a commercial PJ offers if its done right it seems. The one question that is lirking for me is that I have true high def now of 1080i and am VERY confused on what LCD monitors work well for HDTV (yes i have been looking at a ton of plogs and posts) i see that there are new lenses coming soon that will help with quality and the new EYE bulb that works great.
So basically my overall question is that right now i run all my signal through my ONKYO receiver (xbox, dvd,HDTV tuner) and then have a seperate VGA input from my PC. Now when i switch signal the projector is smart enough to know what kind of signal is coming in. Will these projectors be able to go from different inputs without problems? (xbox non HD and then HD, movies and then HDTV?) i am seeing that people are having to change these throught their computers manually. Seems like alot of work to go from one signal to another. Or do these change automatically?
So if i were to start my own plog on this and have a goal to out do my NEC projector with a enclosure ceiling mountable, 17 inch lcd (still not sure which is good for HDTV after reading tons of posts, would love to find one others have used) and do want to reach 1080i if i can with this.
ANY help would be great as for a start even links to other posts im sure i looked over and im sorry for that.
There are MANY positives to take this project on!!
Thanks for ANY info on this.
Mike
