Hi
I am franticly trying to get everything shipped in to my house so i can start
Heres the low down
lens
main one fron an old 35mm projector
two frensel lenses from office max that i had from those crappy projectors
(i am using those for the moment i have to order the ones from lumens but have to wait till payday)
Lightting
Everything from 1000bulbs i hope but they screwed up my order and i havent been charged for them or anything
the lcd panel was sold out so i had to get a refund
the fans and fan controller
the fans are temp controlled by three temp sensors and are 80mm each along with one 120mm for the compy power supply
the rest i will have up there when i get the parts disaster sorted out

here is the temp controller i am using
Silverstone Eudemon Fan Controller & Temperature Monitor
http://www.xoxide.com/eudemon.htmlThe Silverstone Eudemon fan controller and temperature monitor is a great way to keep an eye on your internal temperatures and to control the temperature, while maintaining that oh-so-hip look. It comes complete with three sets of thermal sensor stickers that are used to detect the temperature of the CPU, SYS, and HDD. You can display the temperature of either of CPU, SYS, or HDD with a simple press of the MODE button. Three sets of independent fans are monitored by the Silverstone Eudemon fan controller, and the fans will automatically adjust their speed according to the temperature. There is also a "High Temperature Alarm" function to keep you aware of any systems that may overheat. The LCD display can display the current time and has an alarm clock function. Keep your system running cool, and always know when it isn't, with the Silverstone Eudemon fan controller and temperature monitor 45°.

On the bottom right of the LCD it appears to have a HDD monitor. I would hope this thing would be smart enough that if a harddrive wasn't present then it would just always ready empty or full? That would blow if it didn't turn on at all

That is a lot of noise if you are planning on having 2 80mm and 1 120mm fans. This
ONE HERE was brought up in the forums and pushes a lot of air with little noise
Enermax Blue 120mm
63-94.9 CFM
24.6-30.1 db
Just thought I'd throw some suggestions out if you haven't bought the fans yet...

Glad to help, everyone has been trying to keep the dba around 35 or lower I believe. There are a couple of other fans people are using but I liked this one because it comes with a grill.
Also nice idea with the PC power supply. I was going to do this but decided to go with the 12V AC-to-DC adapter...takes less room, no heat, and no noise.
xero0222
May 1 2004, 04:32 PM
the reason for the pc power supply is that i am going to build a pc in the projector so i dont have to carry one around also, for if i bring the pj some place else

I am just placing an extra power socket in my box so that I can connect my PC to it when I travel...don't really have enough $ to install a good PC into the projector. I'll just have to use my current Graphics card/setup for it

Very nice, I have everything but LCD and glass panels...save the delicate stuff for last.
I'm hoping to get my box cut and assembled this weekend. Everyone said it's easier to work from the back of your box towards the front. This way I can add all the wiring etc first and then all I'll have left is the glass, fresnels, and LCD to throw in.

I would not use Plexi, might stick to fresnels, and also the clearity properties of Plexi are not as high as glass and can hender your final outcome.

May 11 2004, 05:07 PM
Plex isn't nearly as clear and eats light. People do use it though.
xero0222
May 11 2004, 05:08 PM
so i should not use it for any part of the pj

May 11 2004, 05:14 PM
Glass would be best for all light transmitting applications.

So does this mean your LTM150XP has arrived? If so, have you given it the once-over for FFC issues yet? Not to rush you, but we've had several members asking about this panel lately, and it would be great if I could give them a definate answer.
Thank!

You could solder them and use wing nuts. If you solder them and decide to change something it's a pain.

i have a problem all the wires from my ballast are white
and two com wire but both say com and that is it

May 12 2004, 02:13 AM
They should have some kind of markings.
ScOrPiOn
May 12 2004, 04:34 AM
RCL has a good diagram here
Ballast WiringAs for the white wires of course you are looking for a wire with 120V (US) printed on it...hopefully it's printed on there or things will get interesting
For all other questions regarding wiring please look at the above post.

Go for the garage. Insects will attack your projector at night outdoors, especially moths.
