a 720p trailer for madegascar

im projecting onto 54" rolls of normal paper, will upgrade soon.

Anyone know why my corners are so dark? heres a pic of my reflector set up

I have a fairly similar screen size (on the wall not the LCD). I did a light test in the garage before I finalized things, projecting on the garage door from the distance my projector would be. A lot of the over 100 inch projections get dark corners and the solution I used (I believe it was Supra' find) is to move the collimator fresnel (the 220 mm) about 30 mm farther (in my case, you'll need to experiment) forward (towards the projection lens). I have my fresnels and lcd on a sled/module and so it made the adjustment pretty easy. Others have moveable light engines, I guess whatever works better for you. Great job on your PJ! smile.gif

my light fisture is adjustable and i brought the light closer but made the corners REAlly dark, so i pulled it back as far as i could and it gotbrighter but at a point im pretty sure it started going down again, so right now its in the sweet spot but there is still dim corners. You think maybe my reflector isnt aligned correctly?
Mikau
Yeah try adjusting the reflector.

do u know how to set up the reflector perfectly with a venture bulb and norpro bowl?
MMc
The arc of the bulb should be where the middle of the reflector would be if the reflector were a complete sphere.

i found where the brightest spot is but right now im trying to eliminate the dark corners, i have a couple ideas
1) the standard triplet is too small to handle the full 17"er
2) the corners are getting chopped becuase the image has to travel a little too far into the front focusing mechanism.
3) the reflector has to be adjusted
Mikau
You don't want to search for the brightest spot in the middle. You want it even. If the middle is extra bright that means the middle is getting light the sides should be getting.

looks like i fixed it, my reflector wasnt alligned right in the middle. must have been off no more than .5", but it made all the differance

heres a pic

more in my plog
