An lcd's polarizer doesn't seem to care so much how the light moves through them. We can use split and unsplit optics, where the light is moving through the polarizers, collimated, or converging towards a point and moving through at a steaper angle at the edges.
BUT from what I've read, it seems the replaced polarizers are not quite so forgiving, and require the light is reasonably collimated. True? This would require a split fresnel set up.
This would be fine with me, except I am using lens shift. Basicly, my bulb is moved downward to bring the focused light up to off set the lens. See pic.
I could perhaps order a large 330 mm fresnel from 3d lens when I order the polarizer, and off center it. But a 330 mm focal length, front mounted, is not ideal as far as light capturing efficency.
Of course if there are polarizers available that are more forgiving like the lcd polarizers, then just say so. But if not, I could use some suggestions for lens/polarizer placement to work with lens shifting. I'm not going back to keystoning.
