This is a very nice TV/Monitor, although the TV image I'm getting isn't top quality. This is due to the crappy feed though, rather than the panel itself. It's just unfortunate that the higher definition of the LCD shows up the poor quality of the TV feed.

There are various inputs, from PC VGA right through to component DVD inputs, so it's unlikely that you'll have something you can't connect to it. You even have the option of Picture in Picture, although I think that is only when the PC VGA is the main feed.

The 'built in' TV/video converter is actually an external box that slots into an expansion port on the panel. Hopefully this will make strip down and placement of the ports. The power supply is an external box, that converts 240v down to 12v. Again, hopefully this will make strip down and placement easier.

The picture from the component DVD inputs is very crisp and clear, but it isn't progressive scan. This is a minor pain in the butt for me, as my new DVD player IS progressive scan. Oh well, not a major problem I guess.

Pics to come. Strip down (and pics) to come in about 2 weeks, as I ain't opening it until everything else is ready. smile.gif

Inputs on the back of the tv/monitor, on the removable converter add-on.

Hi Meeper,

Good stuff, I think you are being very sensible leaving the panel til you are better prepared to house it.

Have you collected any other components for your projector yet?

I'm a little behind on things at the moment (car dying on me, mates stag night at the weekend, etc). All I'm waiting on is info for an easily sourced ballast, cap, bulb (rather than the rip off prices RS charge, haha). I'm going to get the box built with a normal bulb in the meantime, with a transparency to tweak the optics. And I'm going to visit a few shops at the weekend to see if I can find some blackout cloth.

I've tweaked the cabling for the tv a little, and I'm getting improved picture quality on that too. smile.gif

Meeper whereabouts in the UK are you? Because I could find out whereabouts my girlfriend got that blackout cloth. It's a huge piece, 68" by 92" called 'blackout lining'.

Good news about the ballast btw. Hop over to the UK components thread when you have a minute wink.gif

I'm from Warwickshire (not far from Coventry). Will travel to any place that sells the cloth though. smile.gif

I'll check out the component thread after a cuppa. We've been having a LOT of power outages in the past two days, so I'm playing catchup on the forums. rolleyes.gif
