hi can someone please help me here,

with the lumenlan ballast/ushio bulb,
do i need to have these two things:
uv filter and tempered glass

or can i use tempered glass on its own ok???

this has been confusing me. thnx 4 any help

You need both, the tempered glass will let the UVA and UVB through and maybe some UVC but glass generaly blocks it.

UV can degrade your frensles and LCD and cause them to fail prematurly... and if you screen or wall is reflective and you don't have a UV filter you can get a sunburn after a few hours (personaly experence, only a really light one tho).

Basicly it's worth the cost in the filter to save your LCD for a few years more.

im really annoyed i didnt get it while i ordered my stuff from lumenlab.
does anyone know a contact in the uk that i can buy a uv lens from
i would prefer to pro-long the life of the lcd as i think without it, that it would kill it.

Buy lexan xl-10 instead of tempered glass.
Be aware that "lexan" is a commercial brand for polycarbonate. If you can find lexan, you may replace it with any other poly brand, just be sure to ASK for poly that has uv filter.

Ya make sure it's XL10 and now just normal Lexan. If it's just the normal one it's gonna do nothing but yellow itself and let the UV through anyways.
