Ok so this is actuly my second LL projector ive made in the last two weeks. The first one was made out of about 1/16th particle board and had to put braces inside that made it smaller... it worked till I broke the laptop screen I was useing. Now I got a new screen thats to big so im just gonna trash this box and start anew. So here we go.
15" LG L1510S (compatible, strips real easy, basicly the same as the L1515S except with a larger backlight (the L1515S is 2.7 kg and the L1510S is 4 kg).
Standard LL triplet and frensles
Some 120 mm 120v fan I found under my workbench (she packs a punch and is sooooo quiet)
Sylvania M400/U (I know its big, but it's cheap, and I got it here in town)
So far the only thing i've been able to do on the new one is make the sled and strip the screen, I should have that part of the pj done soon.
Pics to come.

Ok i've just spent the last 5 hours down in my bacement designing and cutting and fabing everything I can think of for my PJ at the moment. Heres what i've done so far (painting will happen within the next hour).
By the way I suck at taking pictures without a tripod so these will be very fuzzy)

Everything I have to paint.

My sled for the LCD.

A shot inside the box, the hole on the right is where the lamp goes.

The LG L1510s I am useing.
Ill have some more pics soon once I start puting things in the box.

Well I was doing my wireing over today and had the two wires going to my Ballast (witch wasn't installed at the time... thank god) sitting in the box, I was next to it wireing up my fan, I decided to see if the fan would run so I walk over and plug it in, fan starts up, I walk over to the box and giggle it a little to get it in the right spot... suddenly theres a blinding flash of light and I feel a bad headake coming on. I rush to the wall and pull out the plug.
Turns out the two wires inside had touched when I bumped it a little and send a fully charged ark across the gap (120V + UNLIMITED current = very very very bad...). It was only on for a second but man was it loud and freaking bright.
Moral of the story? Put wire caps on the end of wires that arn't hooked up yet, it will save you from thinking your box just exploded...
Yet another day where I manage to almost kill myself.

And one more ime with the electrical safety...
Several members have had accidents with electricity, and it's all absolutely unnecessary! The thing to do is think before you act.
Sone there was nothing connected up to the wires, why were they even plugged in? Wire nuts wouldn't have helped you if they were still plugged in and you took the wire nut off of the live wire, becoming the shortest path to ground.
Elecricity is dangerous! Anyone reading about this incident, LEARN FROM IT.
As my parents always say: Learn from the mistakes of others; you'll never live long enough to make them all yourself.
Lessons to learn: Electricity is dangerous. Don't leave live wire ends lying around. Don't plug in wires that don't need to be plugged in. Think before you act.

I always try and be safe when working with electricity, but the basic thing is sometimes these things slip my mind. I had the wires ready to be pluged into the ballast (truth be told the switch to the blub shouldn't have even been on) but I guess I was too anxious to see the fan working. Noones perfect, but you should always try to be. Eather way it's lesson learned, I definatly won't be making that same mistake again.

Ok

Good day today, day off school so I had some time to work on my PJ, got the lamp in an everything else to. The focus mechenisum wasn't compleeted so I ended up holding the triplet out infrount of the screen. Ill have some actual pics as soon as I can cut a hole in the end of my box.
