hello world
I am going to buy a 17" LCD monitor, but from what I hear, you need a bigger lens for that then you would for a 15" monitor. But other people say it will make the image alot bigger, and that is something I don't want. This is my room:

See what my problem is? I need to find a lens that will NOT cut off any of my picture yet be small enough that it won't be oversized. I cannot put the projector closer to the screen. Any ideas?

hello world
Just making sure I got the form thing down right:

Size of object to be projected in inches (ie. your LCD panel) I put in 17" for this.

Distance from projector lens to screen in inches: I put in 101 inches (by looking at the picture in my other post, you can see how many inches it is)

Focal length of lens in inches: i put in 21.669999999999998 (that is the size of the 550mm projector lense [I think its a projector lense])

I came around to about 62.23 inches, which is JUST what I want! The projector lens is supposed to be the 550mm lens right? I don't want to order anything and get the wrong stuff! Also, for a 17" panel, how big should the collimator and the collector lenses be, and how many millimeters should they be? If I followed THIS site, could I follow their instructions word for word and would it work? I don't know how do figure out the lumenlab guide, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
hello world
You, know what, forget everything I said. I have some better questions. I am going to be using a 17' LCD monitor (Hyundai ImageQuest L72S), and I want the image size to be from 50" to 100", no bigger, no smaller, just SOMEWHERE within that range. What size of tempered glass do I need, what size of collimator and collector lenses do I need, and what size of projector lens do I need? My room is a 10ft by 10ft room (look at other post with the picture). I just need to know what to order, that is all. PLEASE, PLEASE help me on this! I am so confused! Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

If your room is 10ft x 10ft and a projector is about 28 inches, 17 inch display, distance to screen is 12in/ft * 10ft -28 in = 92 in with the standard triplet of approx 13 fl this gives you a 103" image moving the projector forward 10 inches gives you about 90 inches diag. The longer FL lenses, would make the image smaller than 60" so you would be better off with the standard triplet which is significantly cheaper and currently available.
hello world
I have recently found out that this my monitor will not accept 720p, what kind of scaler would I need? Would something like THIS work for the Xbox 360? Does anybody know what kind of quality this outputs, and if it sucks, then what kind of scaler (hopefully cheaper) would work best for me?
hello world
For the lenses, would the standard 220mm collimator FL and the 330mm collector lenses work? And also, would I just use a standard triplet projector lens (in the guide they say it is 80mm diameter, 320mm FL) work on a 17" monitor? I think i've got most of it figured out, I figured I will get a Venture 400w ED28 (would the ED27 work just as good?) and a coil and core ballast (BTW does anybody know where I could find a -$35.00 one?). Could I get a mogul base in a normal hardware store? Also, does anybody know a good reflector for this bulb, because at the ireplica.com store, all they have is sunglasses (I read in another page somewhere that they sell reflecters, but obviously they don't)! Any help will be appreciated!
