I have TWO 4" Dia. BUHL lenses. One is 14" FL the other 10" FL. Is there anyway I can rebuild these for better corner to corner focus? Can I combine the 10 and the 14 into one projection lense somehow?

There has to be a way to restack these? Maybe I could even build a vari-focal?

ouch,,, did you take note on order at all?

ummm next time when pulling a lens apart, mark with a marker, their rotation position too, some lens sets are matched and rotated,,

possibly best to email company and get a lens diagram..

looks like glass lego tho for a while..smile.gif

I was going to mark them, this seemed likemore fun. tongue.gif

Anyways, I tried every combination I could think of, its just another headache. Moving not just each lens, but the test projector setup too. I kept making different focal lengths. It was fun for awhile, but then I dropped one of the 10" lenses and it chipped.

Anyways, it is the CLEAREST in its factory setup. I don't think these are great lenses compared to the fourset's of smaller triplets that I have. These let lots of light through, but the focus is not as sharp. The others have supersharp focus from corner to corner, but they don't let the light pass...

I have one 18" buhl and was woundering the diffance between the 18" and the 21" they have.

It would be nice if you could ID the FL for each lens set. Then put them in a line for us to see.

Arizona,

Maybe if I take them apart again. I've already had them apart five times and I've had to carefully clean fingerprints five times. It's almost impossible not to touch the lens, should have worn gloves, next time.
