Yea I had trouble getting pure alcohol. I went to a pharmacist and he told me they don't sell pure alcohol ... the best they could do is rubbing alcohol which is like 95 % alcohol.

sorry maybe not %95 ... not really sure how much % rubbing alcohol has dry.gif

Superglue is not waterproof. If it was me I would soak the lens in water. Overnight maybe?

HHHHMMMMM that might also be a good idea .... dry.gif
Cold Steel
watch out for certain types of glue remover they may melt plastic or acrylic.

It is indeed very difficult to get pure alcohol, and 95% etc should suffice.

Trouble is with soaking the lens in water over night, you will still haveto clean the lens with alcohol afterwards.......

I cleaned my lenses with water to get the saw dust off a while ago, and due to the hard water in our area, you end up with smears in the delicate groves of the fresnels...

These smears are VERY noticable once projected, its aweful sad.gif Any inpurities in your water will be on the lens after the water has evaporated away

So, look online for pure alcohol or glue remover wait patiently and then clean with that....

Be careful of glue remover with any kind of ammonia in it.... it will colour the plastic the fresnel is made from.... (Even windex does this!!!)

Mostly.... Have fun, and good luck with your biuld rolleyes.gif

Whhhhheewwwwww !! That was a close one I almost soaked the fresnel in water overnight, thanks for the advice, I'll look to other solutions, my first choice is pure alcohol and if not then I'll consider super glue remover.

Thanks for the help guys biggrin.gif
