Good news for people that have ordered the Norpro bowl from me. I got an email today form Norpro saying the order has been shipped. The bad news is I tried tracking the shipment but it does not show up on the UPS web site. I hope that is because the box has not been scanned yet.

Will post more info when I have it.

Strange, my shipment shows 2 box one still shows that UPS received billing info the other says it will arive April 30th. So we will see what happens. I find it hard to belive that it will arive Friday but you never know.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing yesterday. If anyone knows this, the Qt size as well as the actual dimensions would be nice to have for planning and cutting the pj box ahead of time!

Another update, One box is said to arrive April 30 the other box May 3. How that happened who knows. Maybe their truck was full, LOL.

Bowl size, not sure, ask Brain as he is using one right now.

It is 6.25 inch across at the mouth, not counting the rim (.25"), and 3.5 inches tall. It is 1.5 quart.

Yes I can air mail the bowls to the UK. We need to make sure it will work with your lamp size. Our eye lamp is about 21 cm from end to end. Remember shipping will be higher.

Cool, well I could use one for sure. I'll go check my lamp length, I think I may need to notch it each end, or cut it down joewerb style.

I'm definitely interested. I'll ask some of the uk lads if they would want one too, then maybe you could send say 3 or 4 in one box, stacked (to save on shipping) then I could send them out to the guys. Just an idea, I'd be happy to do that

Hmm, yeah I just checked it. It's 11" end to end, so I could use a norpro, but I would have to cut it quite a bit. Shame. I might still get one though.

Are you able to get a slightly larger size, 10"+? Or are you just supplying one size?

Norpro makes a 4.5Qt/4L bowl. Not sure how well that would fit your projector. I will have to call Norpro and find out the size of it if your interested. Let me know.

By chance is there anyone that has looked at the larger Norpro bowl. I know some people talked about it in a post some place.

Thanks guys for the size of the Norpro post. I was wondering if my box could hold the 4.5qt would it be better than the 1.5qt size in regards to brightness etc?

I'm very interested, yeah if you could ring them and find out the larger sizes that would be great. I have looked high and low for the post about sizes but can't find it. 9-10" would be great. 8" would be a bit of a squeeze, I'd only have 0.25" of room between the end of the lamp and the bowl rim.

Would you be able to find out the extra shipping costs before I order?

I can get the Norpro bowls here at the ace hardware store, they said all i have to do is place order on tuesday before 2:00pm and they will have it thrusday.

You should get the smallest bowl that will fit your lamp properly.

The smallest bowl that would fit my lamp totally (and keep the arc centered with the bowl center) would be 10.5", which is too big for my enclosure. 10" even would be pushing my luck. Would it really hurt my light output that much to have about 1.75" of the lamp outside the bowl? (the section near the base) My lamp m.o.l is 10.25".

Shouldn't hurt at all. The arc is the only thing that needs reflection.

Does anyone have Ace Hardware's sku number on the 1024? Ive been to 2 different stores and when I ask about mixing bowls after looking around for 30min. Hey give me the weirdest look and say this is a hardware store.

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that both boxes from Norpro are still on time for Friday and Monday of next week. ( I hope the bowls are in the friday shipment) I have placed another order for more bowls which should arrive later next week to be shipped out asap.

Hey you, I got this really cut bowl that wants to meet you. This Bowl is hot, round, and firm and has a really nice dome only $50.00 for 30 min. What do you think man.

Ok Now for the GREAT NEWS The Norpor box that arrived WAS the one with all the bowls! YEAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

So I spent 2.5 hours packing, addressing printing and a run to the post office to get them on there way. So people that has a bowl sent to them should receive an email.

On ACE hardware site the bowls, Norpro isn't showing there though, are located under the Housewares section. So hopefully I'll ask where the housewares section is and I'll find them. I'm going to go tomorrow to see if I can find the bowl so I will let you know then.

I'm going to check back here in the morning before I go so if anyone wants me to look for a certain size bowl let me know and I'll check for you. Then if some gives me a strippable LCD I will mail them the Norpro bowl they need. Wouldn't that be nice, LCD is the only thing left...anyways I might be able to mail you the bowl if you need one, I'll get prices etc tomorrow.

Little one might fit just not as well. Would need to remove more stuff from the bowl. Norpro does make a bigger one. 4.5 Qt. Not sure how that size would work. Will need to ask when I talk to them Monday to get info on the 2nd order. Will let you know what I find out.

Hi lamps, yeah if there are any in the 8-10" range that would suit my lamp. Having said that though, I might just order a 6.25" one from you, the depth of a larger bowl would be an issue.
