Hi fellow DIY projector people,

This is my first post so be gentle, I have got a Compaq TFT450 (1024 x 768) screen http://www.monitorworld.com/Monitors...nal/tft450.htm

I pulled it apart last night hoping that it would be easy for me.. LOL no such luck.

This is a pic of the LCD PCB. Notice the 5 little ribbon cables coming from 3 sides. Do I have a hope using this screen or do I have to go get another one? I could make extender cables but it would be a long and tedious task and my soldering skills are… well lets just say I am not the neatest person when it comes to small solder joins.

Umm HELP! biggrin.gif

first, you might want to post this in the help section, you will get more responses that way.

I would not try to solder any connections. You can purchase FFC extensions for your panel which may give you enough room to move the circuit board out of the way... search around the forums, there is an entire thread dedicated to FFC lengthening.

welcome to the forums and good luck,
gs
