After a few months of reading and a few years of dreaming I finally have a projector. So I'm gonna get some pics up as soon as I can...It's just the standard stuff. Something wierd is happening though. On a black desktop background i can see a circle of light kinda like the ring hahaha. Well anyone have any idea...PICTURES COMING SOON TO A TOPIC NEAR YOU!

if you're getting a ring of light effect on your screen, you probably have one or both of your fresnels flipped... i had the same problem.. does it look anything like this?



its fairly common.. just flip the fresnels around in thier frames so that the grooves face towards the LCD and it should straighten it out.

No, not like that exactly, Its all bright just theres a ring of even brighter light it looks like like the reflector. I can only see it wil a dark background

It most likely has something to do with the distances between everything. Try moving your bulb forward and back, with and without the reflector, and you might be able to rule out one of the two.

I figured out what it was ...i have a pvc focusing mechanism and it was reflecting off the insides. But when i watch a full screen movie I have what looks like light leaking on the sides. Could this be coming from around my LCD because I put it back in its original frame and didnt use any silicon around the edges.

I've got a quick question with this setup do i need a uv filter if so where can i get one?

Yes you need a UV filter ot else your frensles will decay and your screen could die sooner than expected.

If your in the US or Canada I hear Lexan XL10 works well (make sure it's XL10 and follow the instructions on the backing)

Good job on the projector! Did you get that UV Filter? Remember...only you can prevent forest fires...er...I mean projector fires!

Haven't gotten the uv filter yet but I havent been using it...I cant stop modding it. Also I will get some pics up of the pvc focusing mechanism.
