Full Version: wireless keyboard and mouse through walls?
Lumenlab > Community Interests > General Discussion

I am going to keep my computer in one room, and put my projector in the next room about 15 feet away.

Has anybody used a decent wireless keyboard and/or mouse that works well through walls?

Things might have changed but the last time I looked at wireless
keyboards and mice they had a distance limitation of 5 to 10 feet.

Yeah, my wireless desktop can only be about 5 feet away from the base unit...

We just tested my Logitech wireless keyboard and laser mouse Here at the office and it stoped working at 25 feet.

That's great!! Might you have the model or part number of what you tested?

I suppose it depends on the technology. Bluetooth will have a very short range while IR needs a line of sight. I believe that there are RF keyboards out there that should have better range. Also I believe that there are ways to extend the range of all of these technologies.

I just bought a 15 ft usb cable and moved my receiver to under the couch, it helps me get the computer farther away
