Does anyone know if it is possible to use my CMV-520d DVI connection to display video from my high definition digital cable box(with its DVI output)?

In a word (Or an acronym, anyway) HDCP.
Probably, it won't work because HDCP will prevent it from doing so. Copy protection sucks, and more often than not seems to hurt the people who legitimately PAY for products. (People who get pirated copies of stuff don't have to worry about the stupidness that copy protection imposes.)
