Hi Guys,

The project was done since August but didn't have a digital camera to show results.

Those pictures are taken with a camcorder snap shot feature.

Screen size: 87" x 54"

You will notice a white spot on the image it's the reflexion of the light coming from the triplet.

I will post images of the pj box later. That white spot is due to my screen being glossy.
One part on the cloth is glossy and the other part is fabric.
I just don't know how to get rid of it of that white spot.

Nice results, but about that hot spotting. It looks like your using a highly reflective screen. When you do this, most of the light is actually being reflected away from your eyes, with only a very small portion being reflected to you. That small portion is the hotspot which I'm sure is more of an annoyance then anything else.

Have you tried a plain white screen? I'm sure you'd get a lot more brightness out of it. I find nothing works better then a plain white screen.

Very VERY nice job. biggrin.gif

Thanks for your feedbacks.

Mikau, I actually before building my screen tested the fabric part or my screen and indead the hotspot wasn't there. But when I compared the image between the fabric part and the glossy part, the latter was a little bit brighter. I guess that I will have to use the fabric part.

I'm using a video to XGA converter instead of a computer. I just could't afford to bring my computer to where I setup my home theater.

I decided to redo my screen. I just couldn't stand it anymore. One side of the screen cloth is glossy and the other is white matte. I used the white matte part and got rid of the hot spot.

It's much better.

You're right there's too much men and not enough women. But you know it's basically a war movie and thanks for your feedbacks.

nice results

Agreed, good move with the projection surface change. You must have felt stoned watching all your movies with that reflective surface.

Anyways, gj. I like it.
hoobatech
what kind of material are you using on the screen? glad to hear flipping it around fixed that hotspot.

Unfortunately, I don't exactly know what kind of fabric it is. The only thing I know is that there is a vinyl side (white glossy plastic looking) and the other side is white matte fabric. I would have to figure out what kind of fabric the white matte part is. A soon as I have an answer I'll let you know.
ArJay
I have an answer to your question hoobatech. The white matte part is crepe and the other side is vinyl.
If you're wondering what crepe is, it's soft on the touch almost like silk.
