The lenses, light, and ballast I got from LL worked out perfectly. The only thing I regetted purchasing were the Evercool fans. I picked up 2 120mm fans, and it dropped my internal temp 15 degrees over the evercools.

One thing to start considering early on is how you're going to mount your front triplet lens. There are tons of different ways to do it, so just look through the plogs and find one you'll have access to parts and feel comfortable doing.

great thank you, i will start thinking about that one now.
and checking the plogs of course, #

oh ive picked up a 120mm fan and silenser for it on amazon, quiet expensive i thought at 18 pound odd. ended up buying another silenser to make it over 19 pound for the free delivery.
does anyone think that one will do, i know in the guide they say one. but im starting to think i may get two.. simply to be safe. surely another one cant do any harm.

No obviously having 2 fans isn't going to cause any harm, whether or not its needed depends on what fan you have ordered. Depending on the temperature and size of the room your projector is going to be in you will need from about 80 to 130cfm. But even if the fan you have ordered is powerful enough, if you have two it will be quieter because you can run them at lower speeds and it also means if one fails, your lenses don't melt and the lcd panel won't go up in flames.

Have you got a link to these silencers you mentioned as I have not heard of them and can't find them on amazon?

What "too much" fan hurts is noise. I have "too much" in the way of fans, and it is noisy. With the projector on in my basement, I can't hear the phone. If I'm watching a movie, I can't hear the doorbell, either. (And I am not one to crank up the volume, in general.)

If your enclosure is well designed to pull air over the LCD and collimator fresnel, you should only need 1 fan. 2 is nice as a fail-safe, but 1 should be adequate.

ryaninlondon, I have moved this thread because its really not relevant to the Global DIY Projector Community. To be honest, its really quite pointless because all the information you asked for is available on the forum.
