Hey guys,
so I worked the entire weekend at my projector ...
What I still have to do is
- install buttons voor the control panel from the lcd
- install the reflector
- and a little bit of tuning.
But ... IT WORKS !!! .... the picture quality is really incredible ...
I must say , the most stressfull (very) was installing the lcd panel in the case. It was not really the stripping. I was really scared of damaging the edge connectors... but the first time I turned it on ... it still worked. I never felt so relieved

I will be posting results as soon as I have the blackout cloth.

May 3 2004, 11:00 AM
that part was really easy

... just use some white tape for the best results ...
you will really need that size of screen, if you wanna get some distance between the pj and the screen

Nice job on the projector! The exterior looks great and the projected images are really nice. Your projector fits right in with other modern furnishings and decor in your house.

Hey Fyberoptix,
Nice pictures indeed. I gather from the 'Persil' commercial that you are from The Netherlands, like me. May I ask you where you got your 'blackout cloth' and what it is called in Dutch (I tried asking for 'verduisteringsgordijnen', but it was the wrong stuff (very expensive...)).
Many thanks,
Sardonis (not a customer).

Haha I'm from the Netherlands too, More dutch guys than I thought.
Fyberoptics is from Belgium but that doesn't matter

Fyberoptics: Kun je mij misschien een zip file met wat meer detail foto's sturen over de bouw/lcd en andere? Ik ga namelijk bijna dezelfde componenten gebruiken, daarom verzamel ik eerst zoveel mogelijk informatie.

May 12 2004, 11:31 AM
Biotom .. you got PM

Sardonis ... I think there called "zonnewerings gordijnen" but I'm not sure.
I got mine at Makro ... They have different sizes going from 70x180cm to 210x180cm. I tapped one from 90 cm and 210 cm together, giving a nice 16:9 ratio

... btw .. You should buy the guide ... having access to de private forums has been very very usefull to me. It's only 17 euros ... you are gonna spend a lot more on the components ..

Just to let you know if my output is as good as yours I'm going to be in home theater heaven.
P.s. Is there any reason you removed the circuit boards from the metal case and grounded them that way?

Wow! I am totally excited about this pj project now. I just put up my screen today, I started all this out as a 16mm film buff, but after paying $150 bucks for a really old faded movies, I want digitally mastered stuff that was filmed in the 21 century! A friend of mine is a master cabinet maker so he is going to make the cabinets and I am going to do the guts! Any secrets you want to share on making your optics and LCD work so well?
Thanks, Teffy

Very, very nice!
A question did you use material from the lumenlab site? but most of all where did you get your reflector (Ik ben immers Nederlander en belgie is niet heel ver weg...)
Biotom
Jul 12 2004, 05:03 PM
I used the lenses from lumenlab.
De reflector heb ik gekocht bij de plaatselijke Xenos (geeft geen hotspot)
