I finished the first version of my PJ about a month ago, just in time for my Texas-Ohio State party. Big hit with my guests, fortunately Texas won which made the party and the PJ a success.

Since then I haven’t had much of a chance to work on it but there are a bunch of things I need to tweak. First of all, I’m using the screen from a Samsung 151MP LCD monitor. This was an interesting monitor, it was marketed as a monitor/LCD TV. It says its HDTV ready.

Its got S-video inputs, as well as composite and SVGA. It also has an input that looks like an SVGA (D sub 15) that’s labeled DTV (Digital TV). To date, I’ve tried hooking up a component output from a DVD player and a HDTV receiver to the DTV input using a component to VGA cable, but I’ve never gotten it to work. I use the S-video input which is OK, but I'd like to use the high def capabilities of this monitor. I ordered a Vdigi box the other day, I’m going to try connecting everything up to the SVGA input and see if that works. Does anyone know what I’m supposed to use with this DTV input? If I figure that out I'll sell the Vdigi and go with that.

Another question: is there anyway to tell, once you’ve peeled off the green and white covers, which side of a piece of Lexan XL10 is the side that faces the light source?

It’s been a blast working on this project, my kids love watching movies on the big screen, sports look awesome. Plus the feeling of accomplishment of DIY. Thanks to everyone for all their continued help and support.

Did you ever pick up a vDigi? I never bothered since my monitor only supports 480p.

Why don't you start a PLOG? I'm curious to see your results.
