I have begun stripping my LCM-15v5, but have stopped because I can not easily separate the edge connectors. My concern is that they will be damaged. Any strategies on separating them are welcome. The connectors appear to be smaller than those in posted forum pictures.
Also, I see circuitry along the top edge of the monitor. Will this come off or is it part of the monitor addressing configuration?
Thanks in advance.

Pracically all LCD monitors will have circuit boards which are attatched to the edge of the glass. Do not remove these. Those circuit boards will then, in turn attatch to the LCD control board by a FFC. This can be removed, and in fact probably should be for handling the LCD monitor.

Actually I'm interested in step by step stripping. If nobody else has done it i will try but it will be a while before i strip it.

I got some good advice from a fellow poster.
The small connectors pop up. Carefully put a letter opener or still flat object under the ffc and slowly twist. The connector top hinges down onto the ffc. By prying up the connector top will pop up. You can then slide the ribbon out. Pretty easy, but harrowing if its your first time.

thats he exact monitor that I'm using. Its similar to a CMV monitor. The white cover for the lcd just needs to be unsnapped carefully. i didn't have much trouble taking it off, its actually probably one of the easiest lcd's to take apart. Just don't damage any of the parts because you can use those parts to make the border for the lcd and put it in the box.
