I don't recall seeing this discussed on any topics.

I recently finished rev 1 of my proj. (PLOG is forthcoming, once I get my camera back from the person I lent it to).

My plan was to have my tempered glass cut so that it would seal off the light chamber from the rest of the projector. I set up a split cooling design that works very well.

In an attempt to reduce the stray light that was coming from the light chamber, I painted the glass with heat-resistant flat black paint, all except for a rectangle near the center to let the light through. The clear rectangle is a slightly bigger than the light path to ensure light can get to the whole fresnel.

The result is that it significantly reduced the light that was leaking out of the fan cutout that was above the glass.

Has anyone else tried this approach?

Yes, I also painted the inside of the light chamber flat black. I only wanted the light from the bulb and reflector.
