I have the lcd panel is hooked up but the panel screen shakes...is there a way to repair this? We are using a View Sonic VG150. I was told I could spray cold air on the chips to find out which ones are bad are there any other suggestions...any help would be great.

You can get freezer spray from Maplins or a U.S. equivilant, and you should be able to see if any chips are malfunctioning if they heat up again significantly quicker than the others, but before doing that I would check your connections, check your earths, and check the OSD setting (maybe try phase).

I had a similiar problem with a VG151 I used a heat gun on the back to find the problem. For me it was a bad 1uf Capacitor somewhere. biggrin.gif When I first turn on my monitor I'd have a similiar problem but after a while it would clear up so someone told me to either freeze or heat the PCB to find the problem. Since i didn't have freeze spray, I just ran a heat gun (Ok my wifes embossing heat gun) over the back of the exposed PCB until the problem cleared up. I was able to narrow it down to two caps, I replaced both of them but only one of them needed to be replaced. I'm not the best at soldering so it was a little hard for me to take off the SMD capacitors but everything works fine now. I'm not sure but I think this technique only works with Caps though.

Another method I heard was to do in circuit tests with an ESR. Most ESRs are around $70+ but I'm cheap.

Hope this helps
