Hello nemesismajor
Question for you on your LCD. Depending on where you look the CMV CT520D is either listed as 400:1 or 500:1 contrast blink.gif. I was hoping you could confirm which it is. Thank you in advance and I look forward to seeing your progress smile.gif

might you be comparing CT520(A)nalog and CT520(D)igital?
brettman
nemesismajor - Thank you for clearing that up for me. Im hoping to use this LCD in my projector as well. Can't beat the stats for the money even if it had been 400:1

Mezmer - I'm not sure, I did a quick search on the CT520A and found that the Contrast was 500:1 on that as well. It may have not been typed right on the site I was looking at or I may have just misread it. unsure.gif

In either case thank you all again,

Brettman
nemesismajor
I dont think that company even makes one with 400:1 lowest I saw was 450:1
pulsareus
Have you guys found a place to buy the 520d? It looks like it has been discontinued. Can't find it anywhere.

Nemesismajor,

Try pulling your lighting equipment out of the box and wiring it up directly. If it's not firing, listen to the ballast carefully for any sounds. If the ballast is making a faint clicking noise but isn't firing then it may be a bad ballast. If so, email Lumenlab and see about getting a replacement.

Also, check the mogul socket to see if the tab inside is sticking up enough to make contact with the lamp when it gets screwed in.

One more thing. Just do a thorough inspection of the lamp and make sure there is nothing suspicious.

Nice, did you build the box yourself?
nemesismajor
could have but had trescorp do it figured my time was worth having someone else do it I was working two jobs at the time and school so his deal was good to me still had to cut some holes and make some things for it but the basics were all there.

Nice, just what I was hoping to hear. Great job by the way. biggrin.gif

Just taking my LCD apart as I type this, hope it turns out alright ph34r.gif
nemesismajor
I would save that until almost the last thing that you do
Paul3ct04
Look sooooooo B u t full. What is the dimension of the box?
TESCORP
Nice to see some screen shots! how are the temps holding? any pics of how you set it up inside?
brettman
Great job on the PJ. Just wondering how big the picture you are projecting is? I also second the request for pictures of the inside of the box.
TESCORP
The dimensions of the enclosure are 30" x 14" x 11.5" the front and back panels are 14" x 7" these are all inside dimensions, add 3/4" for the thickness of the wood.
Paul3ct04
TESTCORP,

Is it possible that you make 31" x 15" x 14" and the front and back penels are 8.5"?
nemesismajor
the insides are not as pretty but get the job done I will get pics up in later. temps are not bad seem to be around 90ish I will position the temp sensors better and give you a more in depth temps later as well

So how is this going for you?

Also, what made you go with the LL light kit and not with the venture setup everyone else is talking about?
nemesismajor
temps are updated and going great

I picked the LL kit because its a good kit for the price. I have to say I love the ballast too
