I'm thinking of building a mythtv server for shits 'n giggles. I think I'm gonna go with one of the hauppague cards because I'm not to worried about HDTV yet. What's teh differences between the 150, 250, 350, and 500?

150 and 500 are newest models, replacing the older 250/350 models
500 is dual, 150 is single

I was looking into doing a PVR myself but found that the DVR through my cable company was better suited to my needs (that and to a large extent it was my only choice wink.gif ). If you haven't been there a good site to visit would be - http://www.byopvr.com. They are a great source of information for the DIY PVR. Good luck with it,

Some basic differences

PVR150 - Comes with MPEG Encoder(which means little PC resources while recording)

PRV350 - Comes with MPEG Encoder and Decoder(which means little PC resources while recording and during playback)

PVR500 - Allows you to watch one channel while recording another channel.
