First off, any word on the new pro lenes?
second off, i was goign to build a 17" last year but the pro lenses wereout of stock so now im looking at LCD's again and since they prices went down so much i could easily get a 19" or 21", whats the advantages and more importantly disadvantages?

i wanted bigger becuase for me more resoution is a great thing.

You'll find that most 17" and 19" monitors run the same resolution. 17" will show H.D. at 720P which is probably enough for most applications.

The only advantage would be if you can get a 1600X1200 panel.

The disadvantage is that you'd lose throw. A 19" panel with a 500mm projection lens gives a throw that's not much better than a 15" panel with a 320mm projection lens. (Still a BIT better, but not much!) Since the throw of the pro lens is one of it's chief assets, why waste it? Plus now you're making a big projector even bigger.

As I said, if the resolution is better, that's one thing, but if it's the same 1280X1024 as the 17" there's no advantage, only disadvantage.

Well, with one caveat. The larger panel allows a bit more light to be captured from the lamp. The only thing there is that it will be more uneven, with dimmer corners. But a bit more light overall.
