We're all aware of OTA tuner card such as the ATI model, but it's a limiting option because it only utilizes OTA sources. I have a Comcast HD receiver with component (YPbPr) and DVI output. I also have an Xbox with HD component output. So the big question: is there a card yet that accepts an HD signal via component or DVI input? The Vdigi is a transcoder. All it does is take a component output and convert it to a VGA signal your monitor can "read". The picture comming from these things is perfect, so the only way a capture card is going to be better, is if you use software on the PC to enhance the picture.

See my thread on transcoders HERE.
