Are component to VGA adapters any good.. Something like this one..

http://cgi.ebay.com/Component-Video-to-VGA...1QQcmdZViewItem

I've got my DVD player hooked up using SVideo through my Kworld, and it is pretty clear/sharp. Would I benefit any by buying something like this and use my DVD players component connections? Or would there be hardly any difference?

I know my Gamecube looks crapy, but I was wondering if I bought component Gamecube Cables and then fed them into a component to VGA converter, would I get better results?

thanks

The component to VGA transcoder/adapters are pretty much straight through adapters (no scaling). I think it should work if your monitor will accept it, but that means that if you have 480p, it won't fill up the screen. It says it will work with 540p (is that 15" widescreen?) and 720p (17" widescreen).

A pretty popular one is the VDigi.

You would notice a big difference in picture quality going from S-video to component.

Transcoders are the best way of getting a component signal to our projectors.
