Here are the results of my first LL projector using a 15" westinghouse LCD panel (CMV clone). These pics are kinda crappy because of the camera used. Anyway the pictures are using

Dual Audiosource AmpThree biamped for the fronts
Soundstream DAC-1
Yamaha CD changer through DAC-1
Four Wharfedale bi-polar for rear/side surrounds
Custom Adire Audio Tempest 300w 15" Subwoofer

I have gotten the computer fairly quiet, now i'm working on replacing the fans in the powersupply with quieter fans, or hooking up a fan controller to them to lower voltage.

Screen is from Parkland Plastics PLAS-TEX Polywall. Size is a 16x9 ratio 68"x37" equaling into a ~80" widescreen. Using USHIO SS400D and IKEA napkin holder. The lamp and reflector are adjustable with the box closed, and are finalized by drilling the adjustable pieces to the box. (more on that later)

This projector replaced a 30" widescreen HDTV and a upscaling dvd player by denon, don't miss them at all smile.gif

One of the pictures is with the flash on.

Hi Sonic. Download Powerstrip, and then go into custom resolutions and add 1024x576 Alis PDP resolution, and it will go into a 16:9 desktop, that is the only one that works.

Hey, that's a nice lil CPU there. Great to overclock with!

Yeah, I already got it up to 2.5ghz on stock cooling, but I really don't need that much speed at the moment, probably when I install some games i'll be able to use up the speed.
I notice you have a vr6 in your name. I have a 95 gti vr6, great cars smile.gif
matthew_lohvr6
heh! Sure is =D

Got anymore pics?

whats wrong with your image?? I've been reading up on your problems with your ushio not being bright enough, and i don't think thats it. Cuz I find I can bear to stare at my ushio for like a second. To me it doesn't seem bright enough for a 400w HID capsule, but the projected image sure does look great. Its all alignment of the bulb itself. My alignment is variable for both the bulb and reflector, not as pretty as FLYCRJ's, but I feel I am getting equal results like him. And I hear there is a new reflector coming out made specifically for the ushio bulb and LL rear fresnel, so we can see what that will do for us smile.gif
Mikau
I've tried a lot of adjusting. No luck. I have a home depot bulb which, according to the specs, isn't is 33% less powerfull then the ushio, yet it still performs better then my ushio. However the image still isn't as bright as I'd like it and I can't use a reflector with the home depot bulb. (too big!) I'm going to try the venture bulb. Its supposed to be really bright.
Mikau
And btw I also have an adjustable bulb and reflector.

yeah i heard alot of people say the venture is the brightest and has a 5200k color temp as well, but I don't think the ikea reflector will work with it. I'm thinking about getting the venture just to try it out.
Mikau
I think Sawtooth_ktm said the ikea reflector is just big enough. I'm not sure. Ask him.

The venture has the brightest specs .... 40,000 lumen intial .... there is a Ushio PS lamp with the same exact specs ... they are pretty much the same bulb.....

the color temp on those 2 lamps are 4000K ...... not 5200K

and yes, the IKEA reflector will work with ed28 jacket bulbs ... the reflector butts up close to the glass of the bulb as it can get, and managed to be at the correct focal distance

Nice, so Powerstrip does this, will check on it asap. Hope its free, does it affect much on the performance of your cpu and when playing movies do you have to reconfigure. Especially if playing 4:3

No powerstrip is trial, but it never seems to run out of time(hope i don't jinx myself). It makes windows think your display is 16:9, so 4:3 movies will have bars on the sides just like a normal widescreen monitor. No performance hit at all on the cpu. However, games that use direct3d and opengl go into 4:3 full mode and bypass widescreen, but all the games i play have widescreen resolutions, so fixed there smile.gif
