I have everything wired up in my projector; I have checked it and double checked it. When I turn on the power I am getting 120v to the input side of the ballast. But when I check the voltage in the socket I get 88v. When I applied power the first time the bulb flashed once, but never again. If I listen very carefully I can here the cap inside the ballast discharging every 2 seconds or so. I have the 120V S400DD Ultimate Light Kit from the lumenlab store. I would like to know if my bulb or the ballast is bad. Thanks for your help.

Oh, and it's not a wise idea to measure the output of an eballast, because firstly it could damage your meter and secondly your meter won't measure the high voltage pulses anyway since they are so quick.

I have searched and searched and searched, with no luck. i have been working on this problem since early june. everything is put together and works except for my light. i've read that people have had problems with bad eballasts, what are there symptoms. And how could i diagnose the problem with my projector. please help, i'm out of ideas.
Have you checked your connections, cleaned the contacts on the lamp and mogul, bent up the centre pin on the mogul and tried a different lamp?
