Hi All,
Im running my JVC dvd player into my N6, and then into my BenQ FP591. Although the image quality is good, it seems that the N6 just doesn't have the processing power to keep the image flowing smooth during fast moving scenes.
In the first few minutes of Cold Mountain, for example, there is serious ghosting of Nicole Kidman's fingers while she is playing the piano, making it look like she has 8+ fingers on each hand! I was wondering if other N6 users are experiencing the same thing, or is my N6 faulty?
If this is just the reality of using the N6, is a computer-based scaler a better option?
Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.

The N6 is just horribly designed. I went through 4 before Viewsonic finally admitted the N6 doesn't process perfectly. If you think DVDs look bad, try playing a videogame through it.
I'm sorry you wasted your money.

Try the Avermedia TVBox9. I have not seen any ghosting or had any problems. Works great. The only issue I would have is that it only accepts 480i. I would've loved it if it accepted HDTV signals. That would've allowed me to purchase HDTV cable.

If you're just looking for component in, try the vdig vd-z3 box:
http://vdigi.com/It's designed for use with 720p xbox games, but it works from any component in source. It's supposed to be one of the best (and cheapest) products out there. Some xbox fansite reviews it too, look it up.
Anyhow, I have never used it, but it seems good to me.
Cheers,
Nick

The only problem with the Vdigi is that it only *converts* RGB to VGA, it doesn't scale. For example, my monitor (1024x768) will only accept up to 480p. I could send a 720p or 1080i signal through the Vdigi, but my monitor wouldn't be able to display it.
They make a nice box, though. If I had a different monitor, I'd probably pick one up.

Anybody heard of any good, cheap scalers, that haven't been discussed here before?
