I see the samsung 150mp is on the compatible list. Has anyone still visiting this site used it? Does the tuner work well? I figure I could save some money with not having to buy a TV box plus I really want the project mostly for watching movies. My first LCD bit the dust looking for a new one.

Yup... that's what I've got in my PJ. Fairly easy to work with. Just keep in mind that with all the extra TV tuner circuit boards you'll have to use a non-standard box design.

You can check out my PLOG (Samsung 150MP)

As far as performance, the TV tuner is fine. It only takes composite and S-video, so it's a little grainy, but that's more a fault of the signal than the TV tuner.

One thing I'd recommend: try to get the 151MP if you can. I did a little research and found out that you can use a "sync-on-green" cable (it's got component RGB plugs on one end and a VGA plug on the other). However, the 150MP will only take a 480p signal, while the 151MP is designed to accept 720 and 1080 as well.

(I haven't tested that last bit, but it's in the spec sheet)

Check the contrast rating, if I recall teh 150mp was a bit low.

I might have an extra Samsung 512n LCD soon, I'll know for sure tomorrow.

I been looking for the 151mp with no luck so far.

The 512n only has rgb connections. It's been awhile but I believe I read that is not the a good setup.
