Just when I was ready to buy my lcd monitor it seems like they have discontinued that model. I really want to get the 520D because I have spent the last month reading about projectors with the CMV CT-520D.

Does anyone know where I can still get one?

All gone. Amazing, a few weeks ago everyone had them. Now it seems they have vanished.

Sucks man I hear ya, it's becoming increasingly difficult to find 15" LCDs. sad.gif

Yah, I have looked just about everywhere. No luck!

Lumenlabs might have to start making plans for a 17" pj only because pretty soon there will be no 15" LCD's of good quality and cheap price. sad.gif

Jeez, this is the worst news (Okay, Lumenlab shutting down is the worst news, but this is still bad). Hopefully there are still some LCD's in their line (529A, 522A) that are available. What a friggin disappointment though.

This really sucks, I wish the LCD manufacturers could just keep making them, there is obviously a demand for them, plus it's not like it's a huge burden on the company.

But on the up side it looks as though we will be switching to a basic 17" projector design, which is great because 17" LCDs aren't that expensive these days plus you get higher resolution, better response times, and higher contrast ratios. biggrin.gif And standard 80mm triplet can be used with a 17" panel. Hopefully brain will make it so you can buy the pro fresnels seperate from the pro triplet to cut cost, even so, you can find large enough fresnels elsewhere fairly easily.

Blake,

The pro fresnel FL (around 500mm) will not be compatible with the standard 80mm triplet FL (320mm). You can get 330mm FL fresnels from 3DLens or DYIProjCo if you want to use the 80mm triplet with a 17" panel. They are available now and are 15.5" square.

I read earlier this year that LCD's will be getting larger, and that prices will be dropping. This is in response to the many LCD manufacturing factilites coming on-line, and about to come on-line. I think the estimates were that LCD prices would drop about 50-60% for 2005... this comes after about the same reduction in prices from last year. Simply put, LCD's are getting cheaper by the minute, hence a shift to larger displays.

10 CMV 520d monitors available is all I found, I paid 208 after tax and shipping when I got mine from newegg.

I had finally found a CMV 520D on EBay, but UPS destroyed the package during shipment . I got a refund, but now I'm back to trying to find one for a decent price.

Anyone else find any place to purchase these online? The ebay link's auction has ended sad.gif

Maybe they'll make a CT-520E biggrin.gif

I may have some good news. I found a website that has the 520d in-stock for $178. I emailed the site to find out how many they have left and what the shipping cost is.
