Here's a report on a monitor that would make an interesting choice for a Proj.

I wonder if the next Pro-Fresnel will handle this? biggrin.gif

I LOVE asian girls, dont ask me why... I think I caught a hentai virus or something.
Anyway, thats a big screen, but not as big as a plasma I saw recently, I think it was +100" or something huh.gif ... for $20000 blink.gif

I guesse the question is why would you want to convert an 82 inch lcd TV to a projector. Just hang the thing on your wall and be happy. No worry about ambient lighting issues.

cause i think the idea of building a projector whose width would be greater than it's length is exactly the sort of thing some fo the mad scientists on this list would do. myself included, if i had the cash and nothing better to spend it on. which is unlikly, now that i think about it.

I love asian girls as well smile.gif, most beautiful women in the world as far as I'm concerned. biggrin.gif And you are refering to the Samsung 102" plasma screen, it actually costs $100,000. wink.gif It of course is a rip off, may as well just build a nice 17" projector with a beautiful HD quality picture for like $800 and you can project an even bigger picture. smile.gif

It would be physically impossible, the lenses you'd need for that don't exsist, and you'd need like a 4000 watt bulb. blink.gif

Blake, I'm not entirelly sure he was serious about the projector thing!!

What gave me away?
Of course I wasn't seroius. Holy crap, for the price of this TV you could buy one of those projectors that actually approaches the specifications of one built by some of the more dedicated maniacs on this list.
MMc
I think you could get somewhat better than that.
