My box is built with the following:
400 watt MH and ballast
15" liquidvideo
120mm fan
2000J surge protector
Laid out like brainchilds, just a bit different.
The front where the lens triplet is held with drawer slides
that have bearings for smooth action. Just like the ones
on a keyboard holder except these were cut down to size
to allow 3 inches of travel.
I took a surge protector that had extra plug ins for the vcr, cable
and whatever and mounted it on the outside of the box.
Next took out the part that protected the phone lines and
soldered switches in their place for the lamp and fan, and another for
the lcd.
I am going to put a hinge on my lid as well so the back where
the light is I will just open up after the movie is over to let the
heat out.
Will put pictures up as soon as I can. Still waiting for the
lenses to arrive. If you are going to build one of these
order your lenses quick. I have been waiting for 3 weeks
for them to arrive.

Sounds good.. just make sure you run that fan the whole time the light is on (and for a little while after it's off) or you'll fry your LCD and possibly heat up the fresnels enough for them to warp or worse, melt..

How close is the tolerance, will you get any light leakage around the sliding front? Is it just a flat board, or did you build a smaller box to slide in and out of the projector box?

Still waiting on lenses.
It is pretty close tolerance on the front slide. The box I don't think will have any light leakage the way it is designed. Will post pictures soon.

Looks great, I like the tectured paint, I might have to 'appropriate' that idea!

And your 'stand' looks very similar to mine! I like the way you think my man!

Thanks,
The stand came from sam's. I think it is around $40. The paint is just fleck stone from wal-mart. I need to finish painting with another coat someday.

Great cart. I bought the same one a few weeks ago. I used the middle shelf from the cart to ceiling mount my projector.

Just wanted to add that the we have watched 40-50 movies on the projector and it seems to be better (better colors) now than when we first started.
May try to put in a reflector this weekend. It really doesn't need it though because I end up turning down the brightness as it is.

I took one of the bowls an made a reflector and it really doesn't make much difference on my projector. I think the picture is better because the bulb is burning a bit better now than when it was new.
